This command struck me as a bit of an oddity. In summary with VRF processing the OSPF route is tagged with the DN bit when redistributed from BGP. The DN bit prevents loops when there is BGP to OSPF redistribution. This can cause problems if the route is received on another device that is not a PE router performing such a fucntion. As such this loop prevention mechanism can be turned off with the 'capability vrf-lite' command.
